Horizontals hold column spacing; X-braces stop the row leaning sideways. A loaded row without bracing can fall.

How Much Bracing
The maker's or engineer's drawing sets the brace sets per bay and which bays get X-bracing. Taller rows get more sets. Seismic areas, tall racks and short rows may need X-bracing in every bay.
Brace Spacing
Sets fit one column spacing: 4' centers cannot stretch to 5'. See columns.
What Goes Wrong
Missing diagonals, removed to fit a long load through. That row is out of service until they go back. We ship brace sets with every used cantilever we sell.
