Turning Corners and Changing Lines
The parts people forget to budget, and the parts that decide whether a line fits.
The Pieces
- Curves: 30° to 90°, 24" to 36" inside radius.
- Pop-up wheel diverts: 30° or 45°.
- Right-angle transfers: 90° where a curve will not fit.
- Merges and spurs: Join a second line.
- Gates: Lift so people and pallet jacks cross.
- Turntables and lifts: For pallets. See pallet conveyors.

Laying It Out
Every divert needs a straight run and a photo-eye before it. We draw the line on your floor plan before anything is ordered.
Common questions
What radius does a conveyor curve need?
Check the maker's curve table for your longest and widest carton. Roller taper and guide rails matter too.
How does a conveyor divert work?
A photo-eye or scanner identifies the carton, then angled wheels or a belt push it onto the side line. The rate depends on carton size, gap and controls.
Can two conveyor lines merge into one?
Yes, with a spur at 30 or 45 degrees and a merge zone that alternates cartons.
How do people get across a conveyor line?
Through a spring-assisted gate that lifts with one hand.
